Renowned Physician-Scientist and Start-Up Expert Join the Fogarty Institute for Innovation's Board of Directors

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (November 25, 2013) – The Fogarty Institute for Innovation, a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit that mentors and inspires the next generation of medical entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses, has announced the addition of two highly respected members to its Board of Directors.

Dr. William R. Brody is the President of the Salk Institute for Biological Sciences in La Jolla, CA and former president of The Johns Hopkins University. He is nationally recognized for his efforts to encourage innovation and strengthen the economy through investments in research and education. Dr. Brody has two patents in medical imaging to his credit and has authored more than 100 papers and articles for major medical peer-reviewed journals and publications. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from MIT and his M.D. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He is a member of the Institute of Medicine and the National Academy of Engineering and a recipient of the Radiological Society of North America Gold Meal Award for his contributions in the field of medical imaging. He serves on numerous prestigious boards, including IBM, Novartis and T. Rowe Price Mutual Funds.

Mr. Casey McGlynn is a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati where he is on the firm's Board of Directors and its policy, nominating and compensation committees. His areas of focus include the organization, funding and corporate representation of companies in the information technology, life sciences and telecommunication sectors. He is nationally recognized as a thought leader in startup and growth strategies for technology companies and assists clients with introductions to financial resources, merger and acquisition negotiations, licensing and strategic alliances with other business partners. Mr. McGlynn earned his J.D. at Santa Clara University School of Law and his B.A. from Santa Clara University.
